According to today’s edition of L’Equipe, Barcelona are now interested in acquiring Lacazette from Lyon.
It’s explained that Barcelona know they need to buy someone as support to their their world class trio of forwards. Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar are thought to need more rest than they currently get, and Luis Enrique is short of options. The manager wanted to sign Nolito from Celta Vigo during the winter transfer window, but Barcelona’s tricky finances at the time scuppered it.
Eric Abidal is said to be important in any potential deal taking Lacazette to Barcelona, with close links to everyone involved.
The problem for Barcelona (apart from the rather obvious point of Lyon wanting a big fee and Barcelona not wanting to pay one) is said to be playing time, with Lacazette not keen on a supporting role.
At the end of their article, L’Equipe say: ‘The Hammers have also returned to the fray in recent days.’
L’Equipe had previously reported last week that West Ham had submitted a bid for the Lyon Hitman.
Coincidentally some Spanish media sources had stated last week that West Ham where also interested in the Celta Vigo star, Nolito.
