The less said about Thursday night the better… Arguably, our trip to the Etihad couldn’t have come at a worse time; we’re low on confidence and Citeh are brimming with the stuff. They’ve only lost once on home soil to us in the last ten Premier League meetings, however that defeat, as we all know, was last season. We were great on the road last term so here’s hoping we can continue that rich vein of away form into this campaign. Betway have us at 9/1 to gain all three points on Sunday afternoon which is worth a couple of quid if you fancy us to repeat last season’s feat. A 1-2 repeat scoreline is a tempting 25/1!
Noble should return after proving to be a huge loss for us in midweek. There looks like there will be a lot of penalties given this season, and you can enjoy 8/1 with our sponsors for our penalty-taking captain to bag a goal anytime! Aguero has scored 37 goals in 47 Premier League games against London teams and six in eight league apps against us so if you want a banker, there it is. He’s evens to score first. Both teams to score, available at 17/20, looks the way to go in this one as we’ve scored in 15 successive league games and City are banging in goals for fun. A draw & both teams to score is 13/2 whereas us to win and both teams to score is 13/1! If we’re on top of our game we can easily come away with a positive result. Will Payet start? I’d love to see it and I’d also love to see Payet and Lanzini back on the pitch together. They’re 4/1 and 5/1 respectively to score anytime and we need a boost after Thursday. Wouldn’t it be great if we saw both play some part and one of them gets on the scoresheet! Good luck if you’re having a bet on the game.
COME ON YOU IRONS!
