It has been a little while since I did an ‘Away Days’ so I apologise, but I am back with all the information you need for your trip to St Mary’s this Saturday!
ur last away game was against Middlesbrough and thankfully the team managed to make the long trip worthwhile for our travelling supporters. However, our last home match wasn’t quite so good and I’m sure the team will be hoping to bounce back quickly, with a positive result against Southampton.

Random Fact: Until 2006, the stadium was called The Friends Provided St Mary’s Stadium as part of a sponsorship deal.
Seating
If you are one of the 3,300 fans making the trip to St Mary’s you will be sat in the Northam Stand. All seats have a brilliant view and are rather comfy (although I can’t imagine you will be sitting). The concourses are spacious and as far as I am still aware there is a Pie & Pint outlet, which I’m sure you most people will appreciate.
Travel
Directions/Parking
From London Stadium it takes between two and three hours depending on traffic. Take the M11 in Woodford from A12 and Exit 4. Follow M25 and M3 to A27 in Hampshire and then take Exit 14 from M3. Continue on the A33 until you reach the junction with A3024 Northam Road and turn left onto this road. Finally turn right onto B3038, Britannia Road.
Parking is very limited near St Mary’s Stadium and roads around the stadium will be closed. The best option is to park in the city centre and walk to the stadium (30-minute walk). Here are some options for parking, but be aware that the roads around the city centre are often gridlocked.
- Bedford Place, SO15 2QW (£5.30 for 5 hours)
- Grosvenor Square – SO15 2GR (£5.30 for 5 hours)
- West Park Road – SO15 1AP (£5.30 for 5 hours)
- Marlands – SO15 1BA (£4.00 for 5 hours)
- Eastgate – SO14 3HH (£5.00 for 5 hours – Maximum stay)

Train/Bus If you are travelling by train it is advised to travel from Waterloo station with South West Trains, which will take under an hour and a half to Southampton Central station.
You can walk from Southampton Central and will take approximately 25 minutes, just follow the walking man on a Brown Sign with a football symbol, which are situated in different locations around the City Centre.
The other alternative is to use the shuttle bus services for a fee of £2.00 for a return journey from Southampton Central and the Town Quay Ferry Terminal. Services will begin two hours before the match starts and will continue to run until kick-off. The service is also in operation after the match to take passengers back to the railway station/ferry terminal. The service in not a numbered bus service and will simply say ‘Stadium Shuttle’ on inbound journeys and ‘Rail/Ferry Shuttle’ on outbound journeys.
Passengers are to be advised that the railway shuttle service leaves from the Commercial Road side of the station outside Blechynden Terrace. The ferry shuttle will leave from the main bus stop at the terminal.

Drinking
There are not many pubs located close to the stadium, but here are a few options that welcome away fans and are no longer than a 20-minute walk away:
- Waterfront Bar (Shamrock Quay, William Street, SO14 5QL)
- The Rockstone (Onslow Road, SO14 0JL)
- Yates (113-117 Above Bar Street, SO14 7FH)
- Prince of Wales (198 Northam Road, SO14 0QF)
- Browns (70 Millbank Street, SO14 5QN)
You should avoid Isobar, Joiners and Kingsland Tavern.
