Born in Parakou , Benin , Steve Mounie is a player under the radar…but a very good player who deserves some recognition.

Mounie was sent out on loan to Ligue 2 side Nimes , scoring 11 goals in total during the season 2015-2016 season.

He impressed enough to get into the Montpellier team this season and has been very impressive in Ligue 1 scoring some fantastic goals.

Style of play
Steve Mounie is a very physical powerful striker… but also not just one dimensional, he offers pace and good movement.

He is not your typical static targetman, he will get about and terrorize defences in a few different ways.

I actually think he would be great for West Ham ,he reminds me of Diafra Sakho a bit, gives you a bit of everything up front.

He has a better leap tho and might shade it in the air.

Steve’s heading ability and leap makes him a standout performer in that area, he can place his headers in the far corners and he is a pretty clinical striker with his feet.

He is a real problem when crosses come in, very alert with loose balls around the box and can react quickly to score goals.

His strength allows him to hold off almost any defender, you could say he has a bit of Carroll and Sakho all in one.

100% built for the Premier League and would be a very good striker for any club.

He is consistent player with a good work rate, given he’s not that well known as of yet and only 22 years of age, I would love to see him sign for West Ham and become a bargain of a buy.

I don’t mind signing players who don’t cost much as long as they are high calibre players….I believe Steve Mounie would be a quality signing we wouldn’t regret.

West Ham have lacked pace and movement up front this season and I believe Mounie would tick all the boxes we need whilst remaining a threat in the air.

A versatile striker should be on the cards this summer, of course mistakes have been made this season….but I have faith the club will get the player recruitment right in the summer.
