Tottenham at home, if you can´t get excited about this game then you are following the wrong sport. The rivalry may not be our greatest but at this moment in time it´s definitely the most relevant, taking 3 points from them at the moment would be a perfect way for Slaven to silence the doubters, for now anyway.
Tottenham have started the season well, but not as great as they would have liked. Winning 2 of their first 5 games, but they have not lost many. Just the one game against Chelsea. They also managed a 1-0 home win against Barnsley in the Carabao which has set up hopefully our first of many trips to Wembley Stadium this year.
The Hammers have hit a good run of form, winning two of our last three games, but more importantly we have won both of our games at home. The consecutive clean sheets will also have given the back 4/5 and keeper a lot of confidence . Many people were upset after the W.B.A game due to the not so entertaining football. While we would all love to play like the Brazil team of the 70´s it´s always going to happen and some games we just need to dig in.
Team news for Tottenham is that Ben Davis returns to the squad while Danny Rose, Victor Wanyama and Erik Lamala all miss out due to injuries.
This game may have come a bit too early for Lanzini who may have to settle for a place on the bench. Obiang and Collins are the other two players who will miss the game. This is a shame as both were playing good football.
Predicted teams :
West Ham United : Hart, Zabaleta, Fonte, Reid, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Noble, Kouyate, Antonio, Arnautovic, Hernandez
Tottenham : Lloris, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Vertonghan, Aurier, Dembele, Dier, Davies, Eriksen, Dele, Kane.
Tottenham have struggled visiting West Ham recently only winning one of their last four visits. I think this shows that the players do like to get up for this game and I believe they can do it again. I also believe that we have the potential of a really good team this year who can go on and have a very successful season. But it needs to start now and I want to see us beat a top team convincingly. I think we will go on to win this game 3-1 and it to be much better than the W.B.A game.
There has also been a lot of debate about our Captain Mark Noble recently, and while the injury to Obiang makes choosing Noble an easy choice. I fully expect him to continue being a great servant to the club, regardless of whether he is in the team or not.
