Deportivo Potter

21/04/2018

It will be very hard to write this without mentioning that Arsene Wenger will be stepping down as manager of Arsenal at the end of the season.  He has been a superb servant for the club and I wish him well in the future.  But not Arsenal and especially not tomorrow.

To be fair it has not been a great season for Arsenal as they look to finish outside the top 4 for the 2nd consecutive year.  They do have a small chance to qualify for the Champs league if they manage to win the Europa League.

After winning 3 games in a row, Arsenal managed to lose against Newcastle United last game out and it seems that they have all their eggs in the Euro League basket at the moment which might be good for us.  Hopefully.

Since the draw against Stoke, David Moyes has received a lot of stick for lining up so negatively and rightly so in my opinion.  Stoke were there for the taking and I feel that Monday night is something we can expect to see more of if he continues as manager of West Ham.

While we have not won for two games we also have not lost for three if we come out of this game without losing I will be delighted.  While I do not think we are desperate for the points a few more would not be bad for the team.

We let ourselves down last game out at the Emirate’s and I only hope this does not repeat in tomorrows game.  For the Gunners West Ham transfer target Jack Wilshire is a small doubt for the game but Aaron Ramsey should recover from injury.

With Andy Carroll back with a bang it seems the West Ham treatment room just looking after Collins, Antonio, Reid, Obiang and Byram at the moment.

Predicted Lineups :

Arsenal : Cech, Chambers, Mustafi, Holding, Monreal, Xhaka, Eleney, Ramsey, Iwobi, Welbeck, Lacazette.

West Ham United :Hart, Zabaletta, Rice, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Masuaku, Noble Kouyate, Fernandes, Mario, Arnautovic.

If he wasn’t going to change the team at home against Stoke I can’t see him changing it in this game.  Hart I feel will get another chance to try to force his way onto the plane to Moscow.  I realise that I should stop being so positive in my score predictions so tomorrow, I think it will be another defeat in a similar mould to the cup game earlier in the year.  1-0 to the Arsenal unfortunately.   I hope I’m wrong and we smash them and ruin whatever farewell to Wenger the Arsenal fans have come up with.
