West Ham v Manchester Utd – Match Preview

The Hammers enter their penultimate game of the season against Manchester United at the London Stadium, having guaranteed their Premiership status with a comfortable 2-0 victory at Leicester City last week.
As it turns out it was just as well that the Irons won that game considering both Huddersfield and Southampton have since gained the points to also guarantee their survival and leave Swansea and Andre Ayew on the brink of the drop.
Whilst the air is now filled with relief many fans are still wondering/worried about our Managerial situation so will these next 2 games be David Moyes’ last two in charge of the Irons or will he get a new deal from our Board?
So we’re on 38 points with 2 home games left against Manchester United and Everton. Can we finish of the season on a high? In all likelyhood Moyes will stick with the same team that won the points at Leicester after Arnautovic recovered from a knock in that game. I was personally hoping that Nathan Holland would get a place on the bench tonight but unfortunately he’s in Switzerland playing for the young Irons in the Blue Stars Fifa Youth Cup so is unavailable.
Manchester United will travel to the London stadium without Romelu Lukaku (Thank goodness) and Fellaini, although Alexis Sanchez and Phil Jones return to the squad. The visitors still have something to play for as 2nd place is not yet guaranteed with Tottenham’s victory last night closing the gap to 3 points.
Predicted Line Ups:
West Ham United: Adrian, Zabaleta, Rice, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Masuaku, Noble, Kouyate, Joao Mario, Lanzini, Arnautovic.
Manchester United: DeGea, Valencia, Young, Jones, Smalling, Matic, Herrera, Pogba, Martial, Rashford, Sanchez
I’m going to go for a 1-1 draw in this one with Lanzini bagging our only goal.
