Back to the London Stadium we go, after a very difficult opening game at Anfield where we were well beaten by a much better team. Liverpool have taken a couple of years under Klopp and a few more millions than us to get where they are now. Hopefully in a few years time we will be at the level they were last weekend.
While it’s important to remember that one game against Liverpool will not define our season. We need to figure out what our best 11 and formation is and work on a way to make it work.
Pellegrini has mentioned in his press conference that those players with small niggles are all fit for the game including Cresswell and Arnautovic. Longer term, Lanzini, Carroll and Reid are supposedly recuperating well.
Bournemouth should be with record new signing Jefferson Lerma ready to make his debut. Ex Hammer Stanislas and Taylor miss the game while Diego Rico is serving a suspension from last season still.
Bournemouth started the season in the best possible way by beating newly promoted Cardiff City 2-0 at home so will be coming full of confidence and hopeful of picking up something from the game.
Predicted teams :
West Ham United : Fabianski, Zabaleta, Balbuena, Ogbonna, Masuaku, Noble, Wilshire, Snodgrass, Anderson, Chicharito and Arnautovic – Bench – Adrian, Diop, Cresswell, Sanchez, Obiang, Perez, Yarmolenko
Bournemouth : Begovic, Ake, Daniels, Cook, Smith, Fraser, Gosling, Surman, Brooks, King and Wilson.
By all accounts it’s a change of formation tomorrow afternoon, while Pellegrini looks to get his first points on the board. It might seem hard on Rice to be left out of the team and I’m sure he is very disappointed but his time will come. The fact that Antonio has been dropped for Snodgrass already makes me think that Antonio’s run in the team is coming to an end. I think we get the win tomorrow with a comfortable 2-0 win both our goals will come from the main man Arnie tomorrow.
