The 2nd of our games against our London rivals, and for me the most important of the two. Winning the 3 points last time round would have been nice but there are many other points up for grabs over the course of the season. But only 2 opportunities to win a cup and while yes I know there is a long way to go in the cup I really feel we should focus on both of them.
Tottenham are under a lot of pressure at the moment. The constant delays with the stadium and now the vacant managerial position at Real Madrid must have their supporters and players wondering whats going on, and hopefully the distraction we need to take advantage. I felt we were just as good as them last time round and I expect us to be stronger this time.
West Ham progressed to this round by beating AFC Wimbledon and Macclesfield which we manged to win quite comfortably. While Tottenham scrapped a win on penalties over Watford.
The injuries are certainly an issue for the Hammers, still without Carroll, Sanchez, Lanzini, Reid, Wilshire and now Yarmolenko. Noble is suspended for the game as well. But Obiang is available as is Arnautovic who should have recovered from illness in time for the game.
Tottenham on the other hand will probably try to rotate some of their players having only played Monday night where they hosted Manchester City on an American football pitch. Eriksen and Alli could both feature after missing a while through injury and some youth players are expected to feature in the squad as well.
Predicted Line Ups :
West Ham United : Adrian, Fredericks, Diop, Ogbonna, Masuaku, Obiang, Rice, Diangana, Antonio, Anderson and Hernandez.
Tottenham Hotspur : Gazzaniga, Walker-Peters, Foyth, Dier, Aurier, Wanyama, Winks, Son, Alli, Eriksen and Llorente.
Tottenham have a lot of games coming up and I feel they will not quite be up for this game and I really think we should be. I do believe we will go on and win the game while it might not be as exciting and dramatic as last year I think we will get a couple of goals and win the game 2-1. Arnautovic I think will come of the bench and show exactly why he is loved at West Ham and score the winner.
