West Ham v Burnley – Match Preview

The less said about our midweek cup game the better. I am bitterly disappointed in how the game went and the fact that we managed to get ourselves back in the game only to shoot ourselves in the foot when it mattered. The good news is that we still managed to make chances but we really need someone from midfield to start putting these chances away. Especially when our front man has an off day.
But on to Burnley this weekend who seem to be struggling this year after impressing the year before and qualifying for Europe. Sean Dyche’s Burnley have never had much depth and maybe the European games at the start of the season has taken it out of them somewhat. Plus back to back hammerings from Chelsea and City must mean they are really looking forward to playing us like so many struggling teams before.
They have 8 points at the moment the same as we do but they have Joe Hart in goal so their goals against is of course much higher than ours. But they did have a couple of good results before that which took them out of the relegation zone beating one of this seasons surprise teams Bournemouth 4-0.
Our recent form has not been great obviously losing 3 from our last 4 games including the recent cup game against Tottenham. I think we are long over due a run of some decent results. Maybe lady luck can shine down on us tomorrow.
Both sides have injury concerns going into the game with the hosts missing Yarmolenko, Sanchez, Reid, Lanzini, through injury and Mark Noble continues with his suspension. Carroll and Wilshire are thought to not be ready just yet. Cresswell is also struggling to make the squad.
Burnley will give winger Lennon a late chance to make the squad while Cork came off injured last game out. Gibson, Ward and Pope however will definitely miss the game.
Predicted Line ups :
West Ham United : Fabianski, Zabaleta, Diop, Balbuena, Cresswell, Obiang, Rice, Snodgrass, Anderson, Diangana and Arnautovic
Burnley : Hart, Taylor, Mee, Tarkowski, Lowton, Gudmundssen, Defour, Wood, Lennon, Hendrick and Vokes.
I’m beginning to sound like a broken record at the moment. But every game I do truly believe we are gong to win. So i’m going to predict another win. This time by 2 goals. and we can all get back with loving West Ham again.
