West Ham v Crystal Palace – Match Preview

What a week to be a West Ham, fan not only have we won 2 games in a row, but we have managed to score 6 goals in the process. I will not go so far as saying we have turned a corner as such, as I believe we have a long way to go before we can start saying things like that. But winning 3 in a row will be a big step in the right direction.
Another home game will really suit Pellegrini as he looks to climb the table as get clear and create a gap between the 5 or 6 teams who will be battling against the drop. While at the same time starting to put pressure on the teams above us. Crystal Palace under ex England manager Roy Hodgson have improved in the short time that he has been there as I think they were well on their way down before he took over. Credit to him for proving his ability after the England job.
They are not in great form with just the one win in their last 6 games and lost midweek away to Brighton. But they can not be underestimated as they did manage to get a point at Old Trafford and then beat last years surprise team Burnley. But like a lot of teams mid-table they are struggling to find consistency in their play.
West Ham on the other hand are away and flying, after our recent wins. The form guide looks much better with just the one defeat in our last 6 games and that was against league leaders Manchester City. We have been looking forward to this run of games for a while and now we have a great chance to get into the top half.
Injury is sadly Arnautovic is due to miss the Christmas period but hopefully he will be given time to recover fully from whatever problem he has clearly been struggling with this season. Sanchez, Reid, Lanzini, Yarmolenko, Fredericks, Cresswell and of course Jack Wilshere all miss the game due to injury. Carroll has managed to avoid getting hurt since Wednesday which is a result.
Palace will be without Dann, Wickham and Benteke. They do however have some very talanted players in their squad and we should not be taking them for granted.
Predicted Line ups –
West Ham United – Fabianski, Zabaleta, Diop, Balbuena, Masuaku, Noble, Rice, Snodgrass, Anderson, Perez and Hernandez.
Crystal Palace – Hennessey, Van Aarnholt, Tomkins, Sakho, Wan-Bissaka, Mayer, Milijovevic, Kouyate, McArthur, Townsend, Zaha.
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome back to the club Kouyate and Tomkins both players who mostly played well for the Hammers and obviously I hope they have stinkers tomorrow. I think we will go on and win the game 2 goals to 1. I just feel we are on a bit of a roll now and players are starting to buy into the system that the Manager is trying to implement. I have said many times before that I’m not a great Lucas Perez fan. But I do know that throughout his career he does have these purple patches where he can look like a world beater and I think this is going to be his time for us. Perez to get 1 goal and continue with his scoring run, with the other coming from Hernandez. Zaha will probably be their best player and get himself a goal, but it will not be enough for them. Come on you Irons!!!!!!!!!!
