Happy days in East London at the moment, Fulham were brushed aside quite comfortably by Pellegrini and his Claret and Blue army. While I do believe we may have Fabianski to thank for some great saves early on. Once ahead I didn’t feel we were in any danger of losing, though i do feel a little disappointed we didn’t get greedy and get a third goal.
The form guide for both teams are very different. The rip roaring Hammers have only lost once in their last 6 games while Watford got there 1st win from their last 6 games last time out against Cardiff City. While our positions in the league are very similar. Watford are below us by just 2 goals at the moment and hopefully by the end of the game it will be a further 3 points and a further 2 or 3 goals.
The good news regarding injuries at West Ham, is that by all reports Arnautovic will resume training ahead of schedule and could come back to first team contention towards the end of the month when the games are coming thick and thin. However as always there is bad news as well as reports are that Jack Wilshire might be out longer than expected. He joins Yarmolenko, Reid, Perez, Sanchez, Fredericks and Lanzini on the injury list. Though Lucas Perez is also due back soon.
Watford also have a few injuries in their ranks for their visit to London. Grey, Hughes, Penaranda, and Prodl are all absent, but Capoue returns to Javi Gracia’s team.
Predicted Teams :
West Ham United : Fabianski, Zabaleta, Balbuena, Diop, Masuaku, Noble, Rice, Snodgrass, Anderson, Hernandez and Antonio.
Watford : Foster, Cathcart, Kabasele, Holebas, Femenia, Pereyra, Capoue, Doucoure, Sema, Deeney and Deulofeu.
Tough game for West Ham as Watford have had success recently while playing at the London Stadium. But at the moment we really do seem to have the bit between the teeth and I feel the players can sense and feel that we really can push on and achieve something great this season, be that the Cup or a final league place. One thing for certain is we should go into every game with the belief of taking the 3 points. I am going to predict a narrow 1-0 win with our goal coming from Hernandez.
The Claret and Blue army marches on.
