West Ham v Man City – Match Preview

Boom, and we are back for another instalment of Premiership Football. Preseason is great but a world away from the real thing. Pellegrini has once again splashed the cash and broken our transfer record for the 2nd season in a row. Expectations will be high but we need to not get carried away as the Champions from last year come to town.
We played Manchester City not so long ago and from what I’ve heard we put in a good account of ourselves over in China. But tomorrow we need to do more than that and try to match them for intensity over the 90 minutes. Our manager has always said that we have to start thinking as a big team and no better time to do that than early Saturday afternoon.
So on to team news and the best news for all Hammers fans is that Goalkeeper and Player of the year Fabianski is fit to take his place between the sticks but unfortunately Captain Mark Noble has not recovered from a slight knock.
Manchester City will be missing Leroy Sane who has suffered a long term injury and new signing Joao Cancelo who only signed for the club on deadline day. Mahrez and Laporte have both been passed fit.
During Preseason City have only lost the one game on penalties to Wolves over in China. Which was the only game where they did not concede a goal. So I do think its possible to get at them a bit and try to win the game. During our own preseason we won some and lost some but unfortunately we never really looked comfortable at the back. I’m hoping the return of Fabianski will boost the defence as whole.
Predicted Teams : Fabianski, Frederiks, Diop, Balbuena, Cresswell, Rice, Wilshire, Antonio, Lanzini, Anderson and Haller.
Manchester City : Ederson, Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Laporte, Walker, Rodri, D Silva, De Bruyne, Sterling, B Silva, Aguero.
Most people may have written this game off already, and I get that, I do but David Gold has recently said this is the most talented squad we have had for a while. Well it’s time to prove it and show the World just how great this club can be. My heart predicts a 1-1 draw but my head thinks that they will win 1-3. Either way Haller to open his account and get our goal.
