West Ham v Tottenham – Match Preview

After yet another International break we return to Premiership action and our rivals from North London Tottenham are in town. This game always has a little bit of extra beef to it, but now the appointment of Jose Mourinho has given it a little something extra.
Both teams have been struggling this season which is why Mauricio Pochettino has had to be relieved of his duties at poor old spurs. The quick appointment of the self proclaimed ‘special one’ makes me think that talks had been going on for a while. People also speak of Jose being past it but there is no denying the fact that he has managed to win trophies at every club he has managed, I’m hoping this is where his luck runs out.
From a West Ham point of view Pellegrini’s job might not be the safest in the Premiership but I think he has a while longer in the hot seat. But I’m sure if we find ourselves near the wrong end of the table for much longer who knows.
West Ham are now in as poor run of form as I can remember. Beating Manchester United way back in September was a long time ago and picking up just 2 points from the last 6 games is shocking to say the least.
Tottenham are two places and one point ahead of us at the moment so hopefully by the end of the game we are two points in front. They have won just the once in their last 6 games and no wins in five.
Good news is that Captain Mark Noble and Michail Antonio are back in the squad and should play a part at some point. Jack Wilshire could be on the bench as well. Sadly Fabianski is still missing.
Jose will also be without keeper Lloris, Vorm and Llamela for his first game in charge.
Predicted Teams :
West Ham United : Roberto, Fredericks, Diop, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Rice, Noble, Snodgrass, Anderson, Yarmolenko and Haller.
Tottenham Hotspur : Gazzaniga, Rose, Sanchez, Alderweireld, Aurier, Dier, Sissoko, Son, Alli, Eriksen and Kane.
I think a lot is riding on this game for us both teams are desperate for a win and getting three points will certainly be on West Ham’s mind. While Jose might be happy to get 10 men behind the ball and take a point. Which I have a small feeling will not happen as I think some of our big names owe us a performance, after far too many poor ones. Anderson, Haller and Snodgrass will get the goals for us to win 3-1 as I doubt we will be able to keep a clean sheet. It’s been a crappy few weeks being a West Ham fan. A good performance and three points will go a long way to getting fans onside again.
