Well we are truly in the middle of a crisis. Last night’s first half efforts are up there with some of the worst 45 minutes we’ve seen in many a day, reflected as such in some of the marks below:

Randolph – 7.5 despite the scoreline could do little with any of the goals, was tidy, and made one quality save second half;

Zabaleta – 6 tried his best but embarrassed by Barnes knocking it past him, giving Zaba a 5 yard start, but still easily winning it; started as wing back but slotted into his more favoured right back role second half, none of the goals came down our right wing;

Diop – 5 a lazy display highlighted by a joke of an effort to make a tackle in the lead up the penalty;

Ogbonna – 6.5 one of his poorer performances, possibly to be expected after such a good run of games, got horribly caught out for the penalty both in the original challenge and trying to track back after it;

Cresswell – 6 steady for the most part, half chance header put over, superb cover tackle first half, but hopelessly out of position for the important second goal conceded on the stroke of half time;

Arthur – 5 seemed to shuffle sideways a lot of the time rather than forward, also questionable the gaps he left down our left wing, hooked off at half time;

Noble – 5 the penalty apart had very little impact as his legs couldn’t compete with the speed and guile of Maddison and Tielemans;

Rice – 5.5 caught out of position on several occasions as Leicester’s midfield run rings round us;

Snodgrass – 5 subbed at half time but unable to get forward in the game up to that point as work was purely defensive;

Lanzini – 3 looked completely devoid of energy and ideas, sadly a shadow of the player pre his injury, surely time to be benched again;

Haller – 3 looked disinterested and fed up most of the game, yes he did win most of his headed duels but every time it led nowhere, and his movement off the ball was generally poor, looked nothing like a £40m+ player, needs a partner up front;

Subs:

Fornals (on for Snodgrass, 45 mins) – 6.5 as ever put in a shift, but sadly had little impact on the game, must surely start next few games as he does at least bring a bit of energy to the team;

Antonio (on for Arthur, 45 mins) – 7.5 showed the enthusiasm and effort that most of the rest of the squad lacked, has to start from now on if fit.
