After the upbeat mood established by our previous two results, the performance against Burnley felt like a step backwards from a team that had the collective look of starting to run out of puff, surely changes will be rung for Norwich …

Marks below:

Fabianski 6 – maybe could have done better with the goal, solid save second half from Wood, but handling arguably not as assured this match

Fredericks 5.5 – lovely cross to set up Soucek with early chance, but then failed to challenge Taylor’s cross for the goal and regularly lost possession/concentration, pace got him out of trouble a couple of times

Cresswell 4.5 – awful defending for the goal having initially seen Rodriguez run, never provided any confidence down our left wing in defence, looping balls into the box aimed at nobody in particular that Burnley’s defence and keeper just mopped up

Diop 6.5 – skinned by Wood late on but rescued by Fabianski, otherwise a solid performance with some good distribution at times

Ogbonna 7 – Mr Dependable at the moment, never looked in real trouble against the Burnley attack

Rice 6 – one of his poorer showings, arguably recent games catching up with his legs, never asserted control

Soucek 7 – another decent display showing a willingness to support Antonio in the box, should have done better with early first half effort when volleying straight at Pope

Fornals 4.5 – not one to remember, as ever ran round a lot but the quality was missing, fortunate not to be subbed at half time

Bowen 6.5 – top marks again for energy and effort but never quite breached the Burnley rearguard, by the end had played in all three positions behind Antonio

Yarmolenko 4.5 – maybe his ideal role is as an impact sub as this was sadly a forgettable display, played on the right instead of Bowen at the start which is hard to fathom

Antonio 6 – another who looked like his legs were needing a break, wasted a glorious chance to equalise straight after we had gone behind

Subs:

Haller (62 mins, for Yarmolenko) 5 – wasted a golden chance to score with his first touch but thereafter fairly anonymous

Ajeti (86 mins, for Fornals) 4 –  one weak header aside, not really involved at any point during his 10 mins on the pitch
