Player Ratings v Leicester

Two solid and impressive back to back wins and arguably this win against Leicester was an even better display than the win over Wolves, fully reflected in the marks below:

Fabianski – 6 not a single shot to save over the ninety minutes, a reflection on how good we were out of possession

Coufal – 8.5 as good a debut as you could ask for, covering brilliantly on one occasion first half, his tackling was fierce and distribution good, must surely keep the shirt for Spurs, could quickly become a fans’ favourite on this showing

Balbuena – 8.5 has found a rich vein of form and looked so confident in this game, never looked troubled

Ogbonna – 9.5 arguably his best ever game in a claret and blue shirt, looked every inch an Italian defender, never gave Vardy an inch (other than in the final minute when the game was won) plus a priceless glare for the sub who threw himself to the ground after the softest of touches

Cresswell – 9 another for whom this may have been his best game, certainly in a while, setting up the first two goals (the first an excellent whipped cross, the second probably more of a hoof upfield !) and also solid as a rock in defence with simple effective distribution and tracking his man whenever needed

Soucek – 9 the ground he covered in this match was just off the scale, time and again he faced up to the blue shirts and never let them near our goal, no real chances in an attacking sense but check out where he is when Antonio scores, a proper box to box player

Rice – 9 on this showing you can see why Chelsea are sniffing around him, just immense and so unlucky to hit the bar second half after a lung bursting run almost the length of the field, protected the back three quite superbly

Arthur – 7.5 not as prominent as his performance against Wolves going forward but stuck to his defensive duties quite wonderfully

Bowen – 8.5 as ever a high work rate and always looked a threat on the break, the goal was never in doubt once he broke through for the third

Fornals – 9 another for who this is maybe his best performance, sublime control and finish for our second and lovely through ball to feed Bowen for the third, always alert when on the ball and seemingly growing with confidence with every game

Antonio – 9.5 another sterling effort up top, great awareness to take a quick kick and then sprint into the box to head the first and all around hold up play was just immense, must surely be one of the top strikers in the Prem just now

Subs:

Haller and Noble for Antonio and Bowen (both 88 mins) – no marks as they only touched it about five times between them; as much as he is one of us and will always be a WH great, Nobes is surely now a squad player who will just have cameo appearances this season barring injuries / suspensions
